The Rock sees a “big future” for a WWE SmackDown star following their first singles championship win at WrestleMania 41.
While much of the discourse surrounding The Rock following WrestleMania 41 has been in regards to his lack of presence on the show, The Final Boss had plenty to say about the event during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week.
While he would address his absence from the show and specifically the build of Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena, Rock also discussed Jacob Fatu’s big United States Championship win over LA Knight on Night One of WrestleMania 41.
Detailing a backstage interaction he had with Fatu, Rock spoke highly of the new US Champion’s future in WWE.
Rock said:
“What I love about Jacob, the last event I was there, I went backstage, I gave him the biggest hug. He had tears in his eyes saying, ‘This saved my life.’
“When you have that kind of performer who is pulling and digging in to something and delivering his soul and passion into something that has saved his life, you’re flying at a different level. Fans could feel that and fans love that.
“He’s supposed to be the cool heel in the match and they’re cheering the hell out of him and chanting his name. That told me immediately there is a big future there with Jacob.”
During the same appearance Rock would also discuss another of WWE’s brightest male stars – Bron Breakker, specifically weighing in on the former Intercontinental Champion’s new allegiance with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman.
