There have been backstage details revealed about the WWE plans for a potential The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes showdown.

With WWE fans still talking about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s appearance on the debut of Raw on Netflix, many were left wondering about his interaction on-screen with Cody Rhodes.

Greeting Rhodes warmly during his in-ring segment as well as filming the pair sharing a drink backstage, it certainly seemed that The Rock was not renewing the duo’s rivalry.

According to a report from Fightful Select, while things could change in the next four months, at present there are no plans for The Rock to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.

In fact, members of WWE creative are not anticipating The Rock wrestling at WrestleMania 41 at all.

According to a previous Fightful report, The Rock and Rhodes filmed something when The American Nightmare attended the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii in November, however, this was never released to the public.

In an update, Fightful are told that the hidden interaction between the former rivals was in the same vain to their interaction on Raw, with Rock squashing his beef with Rhodes.

With The Rock match seeming unlikely, it has been reported that Cody Rhodes will in fact be facing John Cena at WrestleMania 41.
