The Rock Confirms Role In Major Upcoming Movie WWE

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has confirmed his role in a major movie project directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese.

Last month it was reported that The Rock had landed one of the biggest roles of his acting career, starring in and producing an upcoming crime drama alongside Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt.

The mob drama was reported to be set in 1960s – 1970s Hawaii and focused on the “untold true story” of a “ruthless” crime boss fighting to “preserve his homeland through a quest for absolute power”.

While the project’s name has yet to be revealed The Rock has now confirmed the news, posting the following to Instagram:

Grateful for what’s been the most creatively inspiring time of my career – working closely with my friends and of course, the maestro Marty Scorsese.

In the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s the mafia controlled New York, Miami, Chicago, Vegas, and a particularly strong hold on the island I was raised – Hawaii.

Much more to come.

It’s not yet known when the movie will begin production, however, we will provide further updates as more details are announced.

The Rock’s last WWE appearance came at the Elimination Chamber on February 1, playing a huge role in John Cena’s heel turn on Cody Rhodes.
