Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has named the dream match he wanted to have, but ultimately never happened.
Over the course of his eventful career, The Rock shared the ring with numerous Hall of Famers and other wrestling veterans.
The Great One has now revealed that there was one name he always wanted to go one-on-one with, but never got the opportunity to.
On Instagram, The Rock shared a photo of himself wearing Macho Man-esque sunglasses.
Noting that the late Randy Savage was always his dream opponent, The Rock wrote:
That’s a Saturday wrap.
Another ones bites the dust in the #ironparadise 💪🏾🙏🏾🏋🏾♀️
Feelin’ Macho in my “Ohhhh Yeah” shades 👓
(Savage was always my dream match as it would’ve been an honor to share the squared circle with him 🕊️)
Previous reports have indicated that WWE has plans for The Rock to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but only if the Hollywood star’s schedule allows for him to train for an in-ring return.
The Rock’s most recent match was a 6 second bout against Erick Rowan (Redbeard) at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.
His last full bout was against John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29 in 2013.
WrestleMania 39 will emanate from California’s SoFi Stadium on April 1 and 2, 2023.
