Writers and cast members for The Simpsons have teased Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s guest appearance in Springfield.
During a ComicCon@Home panel, Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson, argued that The Rock would be a natural fit for the show. Discussing potential plans for an episode featuring The Great One, Smith said:
“There is a story that we came up with, Lisa and The Rock, but we don’t know yet. We’re still hoping The Rock will hear us. If anybody knows The Rock, tell him that we want that!”
Following Smith’s comments, writer Carolyn Omine teased that The Rock could be closer to Springfield than some might think.
The Rock’s Hollywood career is as busy as ever. The former WWE Champion is set to star in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, which releases later this week.
It has been reported that The Rock will return to WWE for Survivor Series in November. There are reportedly tentative plans for him to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.
John Cena returned to WWE during the recent Money in the Bank pay-per-view. At the July 24 Pittsburgh Supershow, Cena and Roman Reigns clashed in 6-man tag action.
