The Rock Makes ‘Historic’ Donation To SAG-AFTRA Foundation Relief Fund WWE

The Rock has made a “historic” donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Relief Fund.

The Hollywood world has been in a state of flux since the current writers and actors strike had begun. One WWE legend has taken it upon himself to show his full support for the strike.

On Monday, Variety reports that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently made a seven figure donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Relief Fund. The fund is currently providing financial assistance to actors who are currently part of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The report notes that Johnson’s donation is the largest individual donation in the foundation’s history and has the potential to help aid thousands of actors.

Starting on July 13, 2023, the SAG-AFTRA strike is currently in place due to the studio’s unwillingness to pay actors liveable wages or provide them with safe working conditions.

Courtney B. Vance, who is the president of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, commented on The Rock’s contributions to the foundation. He said:

“It was a love fest. It’s like, ‘Man, you’re stepping up in a way that is allowing others to know the dire necessity of it.'”

“This is him saying, ‘In such a time as this, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere, whatever you need me to do.’ And that sends a huge message to other folks to do the same thing.”
