Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson kicked off the 2022-2023 NFL season at the SoFi Stadium in California.
Ahead of the Los Angeles Rams vs Buffalo Bills game, The Rock took to the mic to hype up the crowd. The Great One’s WWE theme played before he introduced the Rams.
The Rock is notably the owner of the XFL, the football league founded by Vince McMahon. The former WWE Champion purchased the company in 2020 with Dany Garcia.
The XFL currently plans to return in February 2023, following recent rebranding.
The SoFi Stadium will be the location for WrestleMania 39, which will take place across April 1-2, 2023. Reports have indicated that the working plan is for The Rock to wrestle Roman Reigns at the event.
While The Rock hasn’t announced any plans to return to the ring, he has previously stated that he’d be open to the idea.
Besides his six-second victory over Erick Rowan (Redbeard) at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, The Rock’s last full match took place at WrestleMania 29 in 2013, against John Cena.
Roman Reigns most recently defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle.
