The Rock Provides Major Update On Cody Rhodes WWE Match Plans

After his appearance on WWE SmackDown tonight, The Rock provided a major update on the possibility of a match with Cody Rhodes.

In short – it may not be happening.

WWE streamed a press conference after SmackDown with The Rock, and he was asked about plans for himself and Rhodes going forward.

Rock spoke about how everything in WWE culminates in a match, but in the rare air that he and Rhodes are in, that’s not necessarily the case.

He said:

“To me, it just becomes something that’s unpredictable. In the world of pro wrestling, everything will culminate in a match.

“What I love about this character of the Final Boss and Cody Rhodes, it’s not about the WWE title, it never has to culminate with a match.

“I think to have a storyline and two characters that are very popular, to never have to get in the ring for a match, and have this very compelling and off putting thing, he wants his soul, what does that mean?

“I loved every moment of it, and Cody did too. We had a few tequilas after tonight.”

He later spoke about the idea of potentially shifting the WWE product in general to where not everything has to culminate in a match.

Rock will be appearing at WWE Elimination Chamber for another confrontation with Cody Rhodes.
