New Japan Pro Wrestling has responded to The Rock wearing a NJPW logo t-shirt, amid speculation about a potential crossover.
The Final Boss got the wrestling world talking on April 12, when he shared a video of himself staring pensively at a Rubiks cube while wearing a NJPW logo shirt.
With The Rock being a member of the board of directors for TKO – the parent company of WWE – rumors have been swirling about a potential WWE-NJPW partnership following this Instagram post.
NJPW has now addressed this post, sharing a screenshot from this video to its official international Instagram account.
NJPW Global captioned this post:
IFFFF YAAAAA SMELLLLL WHAT THE LION IS COOKING.
The Rock hasn’t appeared for WWE since the closing moments of Elimination Chamber, where he, John Cena and Travis Scott attacked WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Cena will challenge for Rhodes’ WWE Championship on WrestleMania 41 Night 2 on April 20, where he looks to win a record 17th world title.
