The Rock Opens Up On WWE WrestleMania 41 Absence WWE

The Rock has opened up on his absence from the main event of WWE WrestleMania 41 amid speculation of an appearance.

The Rock was an instrumental part of John Cena’s heel turn at the Elimination Chamber, when he, Cena and Travis Scott laid waste to Cody Rhodes in the ring to close the show.

However, despite being a key part of the angle, Rock did not make an appearance in the build to WrestleMania, nor did he appear at the show itself, with Scott the only person to appear during the Cena vs. Rhodes main event.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, The Rock opened up on his involvement in the angle, and why he opted not to appear at WrestleMania.

He said:

“I knew then, the best thing for the Final Boss is we’ve established this thing with Cody’s soul, I don’t want to be involved in that, let the Final Boss step back into the shadows, let all the spotlight go to John and Cody, not make it about Cody’s soul or John’s soul, let them do what they do.

“I called John and Cody after the Elimination Chamber, and I said I think the Final Boss’ work is done. We just pulled off the greatest angle in wrestling history. I’m always here if you need me, but it’s best for the Final Boss to not be involved in that finish.”

“They know when I come to them and I lay this out, and here’s how I really feel how it should go. We can insert the Final Boss into this finish, but where do we go?

“I can get involved but why get involved in that finish when that should just be focused on John, 17-time champion and what 2025 looks like. That is the anchoring storyline.

“The soul, we’ll go back to it.”

John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to capture his record-breaking 17th world championship in the main event.
