The Rock has taken to social media with some high praise for current WWE SmackDown star and former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.

One fan had started a Twitter thread asking people who their favourite wrestler is, tagging The Rock in that tweet as their own.

Another fan replied that he was a fan of Shayna Baszler, and because The Rock was tagged in the original tweet, he saw this reply, and in response, tweeted:

I co-sign I love Shayna too!!! She’s a wrestling bad ass and trained by a legit wrestling bad ass OG (Billy R) who used to wrestle with my granddad, the great High Chief Maivia. Life is crazy and so connected

Baszler has been a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion twice with Nia Jax, who is a relative of The Rock.

With Jax having been released by WWE last month, Baszler is now on the SmackDown brand as a singles wrestler, although her last match saw her team with Natalya in a losing effort to Naomi and Sasha Banks.

Any time The Rock takes time out of his busy schedule to go out of his way to praise someone like this, it really says a lot.
