Following the passing of the WWE Hall of Famer, former multi-time WWE World Champion The Rock has paid tribute to Afa Anoa’i.
On August 16, WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i of The Wild Samoans passed away at the age of 81. Anoa’i is one half of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team and a founding father of the Anoa’i Bloodline family in the pro wrestling business.
Arguably the most famous member of the family is former multi-time WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
On August 17, The Rock took to his Instagram account to pay tribute to Afa Anoa’i and honor his legacy. Posting photos of the WWE legend, the caption reads:
Rest in Love Uncle Afa ❤️🕊️
Uncle Afa Anoa’i is finally at peace with his brother, Uncle Sika Anoa’i.
“The Wild Samoans” were trailblazers in the world of professional wrestling.
Multi-time @WWE tag team champions and eventually, bestowed their rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
The last picture is one of my all time favorites- it’s my uncles Afa and Sika with my grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia – and I believe that’s Professor Toru Tanaka.
What I love about this picture is you can SEE & FEEL the LOVE & MANA amongst these smiling, loving men.
You can also see and feel that this wasn’t a table you wanted to f*ck with 😂💪🏾
Fellow Bloodline member Roman Reigns also commented on the passing of his uncle Afa Anoa’i, which you can read here.
WrestleTalk would like to once again wish our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Afa Anoa’i following his passing.
