Following the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere, a new report has revealed an update on The Rock vs. Roman Reigns WWE match plans.
On the January 6 Netflix premiere of WWE Raw, The Rock made his return to the company for the first time since Bad Blood to cut a promo thanking Netflix and Cody Rhodes for his work as Undisputed WWE Champion.
Later, Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa to win Tribal Combat to reclaim his ula fala as “The Tribal Chief.” Post match, The Rock came back out to bestow the ula fala to Reigns. These actions has led many fans to believe “The Final Boss” will not be competing in the ring at WrestleMania 41.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported the idea of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns happening at some point is “not dead.” He wrote:
“The idea of Rock vs. Reigns we have been told by several is not dead and they still could go to that in the future, perhaps Mania but the idea of somewhere else, particularly with the crazy money some places are paying fighters, that could also be an option.”
“It’s up to him if he wants and has time to go through the training camp he feels is necessary to prepare himself at his age to do the match.”
John Cena’s planned WrestleMania 41 opponent has been revealed elsewhere in the WON, which you can read at this link here.
