The Rock WWE WrestleMania 41 Status Following Bad Blood Return Update

The Rock WWE WrestleMania 41 Status Following Bad Blood Return Update WWE

There has been an update on the possible plans for The Rock at WWE WrestleMania 41 following his return at Bad Blood.

The WWE Bad Blood premium live event closed in a big way back on October 5, with The Rock making his first appearance in six months to close the show, where he stared down Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes on the ramp.

However, following his return, Rock has not been seen on WWE television, nor has his return played a role in any of the creative for the shows.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer shortly after Rock’s return that he was ‘not planned’ for WrestleMania 41 next year, with The Rock rebutting those claims.

In an update on Rock’s WWE status from Fightful Select (subscription required), sources within the company have claimed that WWE is a priority for The Rock, with him expected in the fold here and there in sporadic fashion.

Higher ups that spoke to Fightful noted that Rock made it clear he was ‘part of the family’, and will make appearances when he is able.

Sources at the Intuit Dome told Fightful that they were hopeful Rock would be present for the upcoming WWE Raw debut on Netflix on January 6, with there being internal buzz for it even though it is not confirmed.

On rumours that Rock won’t be working WrestleMania, no sources in WWE that spoke to Fightful knew where that had come from, with them saying that they had not heard whether he would be appearing one way or another.

One source told Fightful that it is hard to predict what Rock will do six months out, because he is going to do pretty much what he wants from a career and appearance perspective.

Another WWE producer noted that if Rock decides shortly before a show that he wants to appear, he will, with several others saying that they have not been given any messaging that Rock will not be at WrestleMania.

In regards to his return at WWE Bad Blood, it was said to not have been something that had a lot of heavy planning, but the possibility of him making an appearance became a reality in the prior weeks, which is what led to the main event of the show being changed to the Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes tag team match with the Bloodline, with WWE getting solid confirmation days before the show that Rock would make an appearance.
