The Undertaker: “I Have No Desire To Get Back In The Ring”

The Undertaker: “I Have No Desire To Get Back In The Ring”

Ahead its proper premiere later on today, fans were able to watch Chapter Five of The Undertaker’s Last Ride documentary series from 3pm BST today.

With the majority of the series detailing ‘Taker’s struggles with stepping away from wrestling, many have speculated that the documentary series would act as a long retirement announcement.

The final episode looks at ‘Taker’s WrestleMania 36 match with AJ Styles, and it seems like this match may have been Undertaker’s last as he said he has no intention of wrestling again.

During today’s episode, ‘Taker had the following to say about whether or not he’ll step into the ring again, seemingly hinting that he may have retired.

“I believe I’m at a place now, post-Boneyard, which was a hellacious battle against one of the best in the business. Here you are, climbing on your motorcycle and taking off. There was a lot of thought and a lot of emotion, one of those being ‘are you happy enough with that?’ It was a powerful moment. You don’t necessarily always get those. If there was ever a perfect ending to a career, that right there was it. If Vince was in a pinch, would I come back? I guess time would only tell there. In case of emergency, break glass, you pull out The Undertaker. I would consider it. At this point in my career, I have no desire to get back in the ring

“I’m at a point, it’s time this cowboy really rides away. There’s nothing left for me to conquer or accomplish. The game has changed. It’s time for new guys to come up. The time just seems right. This documentary has helped me discover that and opened my eyes to the bigger picture and not judge myself as harshly these last few years.”

It’s important to note that ‘Taker did say that he’d consider stepping back into the ring if Vince McMahon really needed him, leaving the door open for even more matches down the line.

Something tells me that we haven’t seen the last of The Undertaker inside a wrestling ring, and WWE has yet to confirm an official retirement, so it looks like they are also holding on to the hope that ‘Taker may change his mind and decide to continue.
