The Demon from Death Valley has been turning to the light side. And he brought friends.
Starting this Sunday, September 9, Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas will begin its Wrastlin’ series. The church will feature a series of live interviews with the Undertaker, Ric Flair, Ted DiBiase, and Sting each Sunday.
Undertaker has been seen wearing crosses in multiple out-of-character appearances, and his wife Michelle McCool has made her Christian faith well known over the years. Sting has also been outspoken about his faith throughout his career. The Million Dollar Man has credited Christianity with saving his life after years of living a prodigal lifestyle.
Perhaps more surprising is Ric Flair. He has never been outspoken about religion before but apparently the lifestyle of being a kiss-stealin’, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun is behind him.
One of the testimonies will be pre-recorded, although Pastor Ed Young has not said which. Owing to Flair’s recent health problems, the video call might be his.
By the way, the Bible is surprisingly filled with wrestling references.
Genesis 32:28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
We’re still trying to find a stained-glass icon of Jesus suplexing Jacob.
