AEW Women’s World Champion retained her championship at last Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing event against Serena Deeb, but was noticeably absent from Wednesday’s show.
PWInsider reported after the show that Rosa was backstage for the show in Los Angeles, but was sent home due to an illness.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided more information on Rosa’s frustration, noting that, completely separately from her being under the weather, there was no plan for her to appear live on this week’s Dynamite, with her instead being slated for a backstage segment.
The original report from WhatCulture noted that the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion has become very frustrated with how little she has been onscreen, and Wednesday’s show made no mention of her match with Deeb at Double or Nothing.
Sources that Fightful has spoken to said that they feel like the primary women’s title has taken a backseat to two other women’s title belts on the show.
Rosa is also not scheduled for tonight’s AEW Rampage in Ontario, California due to the same illness.
