AEW Star Calls For Thunder Rosa To Be Stripped Of Women’s Title AEW

Toni Storm has argued that Thunder Rosa should be stripped of the AEW Women’s Championship if she’s not cleared to compete soon.

Storm is currently recognised as the Interim AEW Women’s Champion.

She won the interim gold at All Out in September, weeks after Thunder Rosa announced that she’d be unable to compete at the event due to injury.

Storm has defended the gold since winning the title, and has a title defence scheduled for Saturday’s (November 19) Full Gear pay-per-view.

Speaking with The Ringer, Storm called for AEW to crown her the undisputed titleholder, noting:

“Personally, I think she should just come to work and defend her championship like she’s supposed to, like a champion should. But if the injury lingers too long, I believe she should probably be stripped.

“And then I should be the AEW undisputed Women’s World Champion like I was supposed to be at All Out.

“That’s verbatim. I think she should defend her title.

“I think all champions should defend that championship. That doesn’t just go for Thunder Rosa. That goes for everybody.”

Thunder Rosa recently revealed that she has made some progress with her recovery, but still doesn’t have a timetablehttps://wrestletalk.com/news/thunder-rosa-injury-update/

for her return.

Both the AEW World and TNT championships have had interim champions in the past, with Jon Moxley notably holding the interim World Title while official champion CM Punk was recovering from a broken foot earlier this year.

Moxley, who has since won, lost and reclaimed the official title, will defend his AEW World Title against MJF at Full Gear.
