WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has addressed criticism surrounding her SummerSlam match against Jade Cargill.
Stratton defended her gold against the Queen of the Ring winner during the first night of SummerSlam, pinning Cargill after seven minutes of action.
Speaking on the Babyfaces Podcast, Stratton noted that she felt that a fast but competitive match suited her and Cargill.
Noting that she was pleased with the final match, Tiffany Stratton said:
“I feel like we didn’t have this like insane life or death story going into SummerSlam, so I didn’t really feel like we needed, like you said, an insane 40-minute long match.
“I thought it was a very competitive match, it was very fast. And I think that’s all we really needed. So I’m actually really pleased with how my match went at SummerSlam with Jade Cargill.”
Tiffany Stratton noted that she was nervous ahead of her first SummerSlam match, noting:
“Going into SummerSlam, I was so nervous. It was my first SummerSlam ever, so that alone was just so nerve-wracking. But, thankfully, I pulled through and I beat Little Miss Jade Cargill.”
Not counting Seth Rollins’ impromptu Money in the Bank cash-in, Stratton vs Cargill was the shorted advertised SummerSlam match to take place across the entire weekend.
Tiffany Stratton recently revealed that she thought Seth Rollins was legitimately injured prior to him revealing the injury was a ruse, click here to read more.
