WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has opened up about how she handled the pressure of her debut match back in 2021.
Although Stratton has gone on to be a fixture on the main roster, like many younger WWE stars, her early career started on NXT, with 205 Live also playing a part.
In November 2021, Stratton competed in her first WWE match on 205 Live, defeating Amari Miller, under three months since starting training at the Performance Center.
Speaking to Sidewalks Entertainment, Stratton revealed how her past career in gymnastics helped her handle the pressure of her debut, saying:
“I think what like kind of added a lot of pressure was that it was live. It was live TV, and I remember my first ever match, I was so nervous.
“I don’t even think I had a finisher. I think I just made up a finisher that day.
“It being lived scared me, however, I, because of gymnastics, work really well under pressure because, in gymnastics, you only have one chance to do your routine flawlessly.
“So, that kind of carried over through to wrestling and, with it being live and stuff like that, I’ve learned to roll with the punches and like accept the pressure and just be good under pressure.
“We’re learning. We’re still learning as we go, and I’m having a good time while doing it.”

From that nervous beginning, Stratton went on to have her first WrestleMania moment in 2025 and would also speak on the return of the WWE Premium Live Event to Las Vegas next year.
Stratton also revealed that, prior to signing with WWE, she was hopeful that she would enter the Olympics.
