There was a title change during tonight’s November 23 AEW Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view event from Newark, New Jersey.
On a night where the World Tag Team Championship and TBS Championship were retained, the TNT Championship changed hands.
During tonight’s show, Daniel Garcia looked to gain his first championship in AEW as he took on Jack Perry for the TNT Championship.
While the ‘Scapegoat’ Perry put up a valiant effort, in the end it would in fact be Garcia – who recently re-signed with AEW rather than joining WWE – who picked up the win and also the symbolic victory on behalf of AEW over The Elite.
With Garcia having taken part in the counter groups to both The Elite and Jon Moxley’s Deathriders attempting to take over AEW, he would end up leaving up the ramp with his new championship and an AEW flag covering his back.
As noted earlier, the other two title matches tonight at AEW Full Gear so far have resulted in retentions for Private Party and Mercedes Mone.
Still to come, Konosuke Takeshita defends the International Championship against Ricochet, and Orange Cassidy challenges Jon Moxley for the World Championship in the main event.
