Title Change At AEW WrestleDream 2025 AEW

A title change has taken place at tonight’s AEW WrestleDream 2025 pay-per-view event at Chaifetz Arena in St Louis, Missouri.

A late addition to the card was confirmed last night, when Mercedes Mone announced an open challenge for her AEW TBS Championship, which was open to “any champion.”

AEW CEO Tony Khan then clarified earlier today that this match would be a title vs title match, with whoever would end up facing Mone putting their own championship on the line as well.

Mercedes Mone made her entrance at WrestleDream to interrupt Kris Statlander’s celebration after she’d retained the AEW Women’s World Title against Toni Storm.

Mone was also accompanied by Frat House members Cole Karter, Jacked Jameson and Griff Garrison for her entrance, as they were holding her other nine belts while she wore the TBS Championship to the ring.

It was Mina Shirakawa who then answered Mone’s challenge, with Shirakawa being the current Interim ROH Women’s World Television Champion.

The lineal champion is Red Velvet, who has been out of action due to injury since June.

It was Mone who picked up the win as she pinned Shirawaka with her feet on the ropes to become the new Interim ROH Women’s World TV Champion.

This means Mone now carries 11 belts in total, although there are caveats to three of them.

She has one championship which is represented by two belts in the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, she has the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament belt which isn’t a traditional championship, and now she also has the Interim ROH Women’s World TV Title belt, which is only the interim title, so as things stand, she’ll have to have a match against Red Velvet to determine the “true” champion when Velvet returns.

After the match, Mone was confronted by Kris Statlander who laid her out, getting revenge for cutting her celebration off earlier.
