Today at the New Japan Pro Wrestling Power Struggle event, Shingo Tagaki defeated Minoru Suzuki to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship in a rather brutal hard-hitting encounter.
Shingo won the match after hitting Suzuki with the Last Of The Dragon to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship for the second time in his career, just over two months after dropping it.
Minoru Suzuki was actually the man to dethrone Shingo Takagi on August 29 at the Summer Struggle in Jingu event, ending his 210-day reign as NEVER Openweight Champion.
The NEVER Openweight Championship is not the only thing to have changed hands at Power Struggle, as for the first time in NJPW history, the G1 briefcase has changed hands as Jay White defeated Kota Ibushi.
