A title change took place on tonight’s AEW Dynamite show ahead of this weekend’s AEW Grand Slam Australia event.
Tommaso Ciampa made his debut on AEW Dynamite two weeks ago, where he answered an open challenge for Mark Briscoe’s TNT Championship.
Ciampa would go on to win the TNT Championship from Briscoe on the January 31 episode of AEW Collision, capturing the title in his first match in AEW.
After retaining the title against Claudio Castagnoli and Roderick Strong on last week’s Collision, Ciampa’s next defence was slated for tonight’s Dynamite show against Kyle Fletcher.
On tonight’s show, Fletcher scored the win over Ciampa to begin his second reign as TNT Champion, ending Ciampa’s reign at just 11 days.
After the match, Fletcher announced that he would defend the title at AEW Grand Slam Australia this weekend against anyone from anywhere, which brought out Mark Briscoe, who accepted Kyle’s challenge.
The seventh and final match between Fletcher and Briscoe will be contested in a Ladder match.
