Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw on the USA Network hosted a title change following controversy surrounding some titles at Extreme Rules.
After the company had clarified that Apollo Crews was still the United States Champions despite MVP claiming to have beaten him by forfeit to become the new champion, MVP was shown backstage with Bobby Lashley and Ron Simmons. Simmons’ presence could have been a hint at the Nation of Domination.
MVP still had the new US Title belt he introduced a couple of weeks ago, and the duo encountered 24/7 Champion R-Truth.
They asked him if they 24/7 Champion wanted to join them in the ring, and when he rejected, their actual intention became clear.
They weren’t asking him to join them, they were asking the NEW 24/7 Champion Shelton Benjamin, who appeared out of nowhere with a big kick to pin Truth and win the title, and seemingly joining the Hurt Business.
If you’re wondering the status of Crews, WWE is selling his absence as an injury suffered at the hands of Lashley’s Full Nelson last month, but it’s actually been reported it’s due to COVID-19 concerns.
