There was a title change in the main event of tonight’s special Gold Rush episode of WWE NXT at The Theater in Madison Square Garden.

On a night of four title matches, it was the third that played host to a championship changing hands.

Firstly, Chelsea Green & Ethan Page, Blake Monroe and DarkState retained their AAA Mixed Tag Team, NXT Women’s North American and NXT Tag Team Championships, defeating Thea Hail & Joe Hendry, Sol Ruca and Leon Slater & Je’Von Evans respectively.

Then, in the main event, Tatum Paxley put the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Jacy Jayne.

It was this match that saw a title change as Jayne picked up the win to become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion.

The win came after Izzi Dame and the rest of The Culling turned on Paxley, with Dame attacking her and allowing Jayne to score the win.

Paxley had held the championship since WWE Hallowen Havoc on October 25, where she won it from Jayne.

There had been tension between Dame and Paxley in recent weeks as Dame had been warning Paxley about being too generous giving out title shots.
