To close the WWE NXT debut on The CW, there was a big title change as CM Punk served as the special guest referee in the main event.
After previously losing the title to ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page, Trick Williams has yet again become a titleholder in NXT.
In the main event of tonight’s WWE NXT debut on The CW, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page looked to defend his NXT Championship against Trick Williams with CM Punk as the special guest referee.
During the match, Page seemed at odds with CM Punk including using Punk’s GTS on Williams and demanding that Punk count.
However, Trick Williams kicked out at two and would go on to dominate a closing sequence to reclaim his title.
While he celebrated with a jubilant Chicago crowd, in the ring there was a shoving match between CM Punk and Ethan Page.
Picking up Page, Punk then hit the former champion with his own Go To Sleep to end the inaugural edition of WWE NXT on The CW network.
