A title change has just taken place during tonight’s November 17 episode of WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden.
For a number of weeks now, Maxxine Dupri has seemingly had the number of Becky Lynch, though Lynch has repeatedly escaped still in possession of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Tonight, their fortunes changed and Dupri finally managed to emerge as the new champion – but it wasn’t without some help.
As Becky Lynch distracted the referee and tried to remove the turnbuckle corner pad, she was greeted by the entrance of the returning AJ Lee.
Lee had been absent from WWE TV since the Wrestlepalooza premium live event in September, where she and CM Punk defeated Lynch and Seth Rollins.
Lee’s entrance alone was enough to distract Lynch, as Dupri capitlized from behind with a big diving crossbody from the top rope into a pin, as she defeated Lynch to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Dupri is now the third Women’s IC Champion, following on from the reigns of Lyra Valkyria and Lynch.
The win marks Dupri’s first championship in WWE.
