Title Change On WWE Raw

A title change has taken place during tonight’s July 27 episode of WWE Raw emanating from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

One of the post-WrestleMania 42 main roster call-ups from NXT in April was that of former WWE Women’s Speed Champion and NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca.

In short order, Ruca won the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Becky Lynch at the Clash In Italy premium live event in Turin on May 31.

Just under two months after winning the title, Ruca has now dropped it to the new champion crowned tonight – Raquel Rodriguez.

Rodriguez defeated Ruca in the last match on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw before the final segment, which was a face to face between World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins ahead of their title match at SummerSlam this weekend.

Early in the match, Rodriguez suffered a busted nose from a moonsault by Ruca to the outside, but it was still Rodriguez who went on to score the win and win the title with help from Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan.

IYO SKY had come out in an attempt to somewhat even the odds for Ruca, but she was ultimately unsuccessful in doing so as the three-to-two advantage paid off for Judgment Day members Rodriguez, Morgan and Perez.

This marks Rodriguez’s first singles title on the WWE main roster, though she is a former NXT Women’s Champion, two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, and six-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Rodriguez is the sixth different holder of the Women’s IC Title after its introduction in January 2025 following reigns from inaugural champion Lyra Valkyria, Becky Lynch three times, Maxxine Dupri, AJ Lee and Ruca.

The win also means Judgment Day now hold both of the women’s singles titles on Raw with Morgan reigning as Women’s World Champion, though she will defend that title against SKY at SummerSlam this weekend.
