A championship change took place at tonight’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Jade Cargill made her return to WWE television, making the save for WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton from an attack at the hands of Giulia and Kiana James.
However, Jade would end up attacking Tiffany after the save, targeting her knee with an attack, before challenging her to a WWE Women’s Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tiffany would enter the match less than 100% following the attack, but she insisted on competing in the match, which ultimately caused her undoing.
On the show, Jade destroyed Tiffany Stratton to end her 302 day reign as the WWE Women’s Champion, and mark Jade’s first singles championship in her WWE career.
Jade had numerous attempts at the WWE Women’s Championship earlier this year dating back to her victory in the Queen of the Ring Tournament and match with Tiffany for the title at SummerSlam.
A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned in the show’s main event between CM Punk and Jey Uso.
