Title Changes Hands On WWE Smackdown

Tonight as part of WWE’s European tour, Friday Night Smackdown is being taped ahead of time from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

One of the advertised matches for the show was a Smackdown Tag Team Championship clash between The Revival and New Day.

In the first match of the tapings, New Day managed to defeat Dash and Dawson thanks to a Trouble in Paradise from Kofi Kingston.

This is Kingston’s first championship since losing the WWE title to Brock Lesnar last month. As a result of the victory, New Day are now seven-time tag team champions.

In a side note, this likely means that New Day will replace The Revival in the triple threat tag team match at Survivor Series with Undisputed Era and The Viking Raiders.

The rest of the card is pretty stacked for tonight’s TV tapings, so make sure you keep up to date with our live spoilers page by clicking here.

Despite the show being pre-taped, WrestleTalk.com will still have live coverage of tonight’s Smackdown show.
