Following the May 5 edition of SmackDown, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Friday’s show emanated from the San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, one night before the highly anticipated Backlash premium live event.
Several big dark matches took place at the taping, including a Women’s Tag Team Title bout after the live episode.
During a match just for the live crowd, Rodriguez and Morgan defended their gold against Bayley and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL.
The champions ultimately retained their gold, with Morgan pinning Kai for the victory.
Interestingly, this title match is set to happen on next week’s edition of SmackDown.
Bayley and Kai notably defeated the champions in non-title action on Raw to set up next week’s title bout.
This marked Rodriguez’ return to Latin America, with the SmackDown star of Mexican descent.
Several other dark matches took place, with Cody Rhodes defeating Finn Balor to send the crowd home happy.
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny was featured on the live episode of SmackDown, ahead of Backlash.
At the WWE premium live event, Bad Bunny will battle Judgment Day member Damian Priest in a street fight.
