Titus O’Neil WWE Status Update WWE

Titus O’Neil has provided an explanation of his current role in WWE as ‘Global Ambassador’ for the company.

O’Neil hasn’t wrestled since November 2020, but has remained with WWE, often appearing at things like charity events and other gatherings like the Hall of Fame.

In an interview with TMZ, O’Neil explained what his current role looks like, saying:

“For me, having that title as WWE Global Ambassador, it was more at the time when we were getting ready to do WrestleMania and I was going to host WrestleMania alongside Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon didn’t wanna just have me out there as just ‘WWE Superstar,’ he kind of wanted to personify what he felt that I represented within the company.

“Moving past WrestleMania 37 here in Tampa all the way up to the present, I’ve really just kind of been being myself really, and helping with our Community Champions Showcase, where we highlight different organizations in various cities built around our premium live events, where our Superstars go in and they present checks and custom titles to those organizations that don’t necessarily always get the big checks.

“And there’s nothing against the organizations that do, it’s just, there are a lot of grass roots organizations that are doing tremendous work, but I think with our platform with WWE, that reaches millions and millions of people across the globe, being able to spotlight the work that they’re doing in their respective communities gives them a boost, but also the financial contribution that is given alongside the custom title, is also huge – it can work wonders for some of these smaller organizations. When you’re getting a check for 50 or 60 or $100,000, that can be the difference in a lot of things for some of these smaller organizations.

“So, really, for me, it’s that, and I’m just being myself. I’ve been doing community service since high school, and as a person that’s a product of a r*pe, my mother was r*ped at 11, had me at the age of 12, I got a chance to go to a place called the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch up in Live Oak, Florida, and if it wasn’t for that place, I wouldn’t be in the position that I am in today, not only as a WWE Legend, but also as the first person in my family that graduated from college, first-time college graduate from the University of Florida, proud father of three college student athletes now, one at Florida, one at UCF, and my daughter plays basketball at UMass.

“So, for me, to be dubbed the most philanthropic Superstar in company history, is a big deal for me.

“When you take into account I’m in the same company as John Cena, who has granted the most wishes of any celebrity or athlete of all time for Make A Wish, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the late Hulk Hogan, all these names, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, etc, and when it comes down to service, I’m in the upper echelon of those guys.

“So it’s not about being a Superstar all the time in the ring, it’s also what you do outside of it. I think our roster understands that, I think our company understands that. We go to these cities, we gather people around televisions and in arenas, we should be able to go and leave lasting legacies in each one of those communities far past what they see inside of the ring.”
