AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed the William Regal situation led to major Full Gear changes.
As previously reported, Tony Khan revealed the real reason behind William Regal asked for his request to leave All Elite Wrestling and return to WWE.
During the ROH Final Battle media call, Khan also confirmed the William Regal situation led to major changes to the last AEW pay-per-view, Full Gear.
Khan revealed that Regal asked for his request in October ahead of their Toronto shows and from that point plans were changed, leading to a new direction.
Regal had a 90-minute talk with Tony Khan after the live Rampage in Jacksonville. During the call, Khan told him that he would make changes in order to accommodate the request.
The AEW CEO also confirmed that William Regal will remain with the company until the end of the month and will be featured in storylines on tonight’s December 7 edition of Dynamite.
As previously mentioned, Tony Khan also confirmed that Regal will not appear on WWE television when he returns to the promotion.
