A TNA Championship change took place on WWE television during tonight’s WWE Battleground event in Tampa, Florida.
The WWE NXT brand held it’s Battleground premium live event in Tampa tonight, with a number of big title matches taking place on the show.
The main event was not contested for a WWE championship, and instead saw TNA World Champion Joe Hendry defend his title against Trick Williams.
In the end, Trick managed to pick up the victory over Hendry, becoming the first-ever active WWE wrestler to win a TNA championship, and the first cross-promotional title change of the WWE and TNA partnership.
Joe Hendry wasn’t the only TNA Wrestling star to appear on tonight’s Battleground show, as Mike Santana also made an appearance, with him set to make his WWE debut on next week’s NXT show, taking on Tavion Heights.
New TNA World Champion Trick Williams will also appear on next week’s show.
