A TNA Wrestling star has commented on their championship match defeat to WWE’s Trick Williams on WWE television.
History was made at WWE’s Battleground premium live event, when Trick Williams defeated Joe Hendry in the main event to become the new TNA World Champion.
Williams’ victory marked the first time in history that a current WWE talent has won a TNA Championship, and he has wasted no time in defending his title.
TNA star Mike Santana made his WWE debut on last week’s episode of NXT, before TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced that he would challenge Trick on last night’s episode of NXT.
On the night, Santana came up short in his attempt to win the championship from Trick after AJ Francis and KC Navarro made an appearance on the show, costing Santana the match.
Taking to Twitter after the show, Santana commented on his loss, noting that it won’t be his last shot at the title.
He said:
I gave it my all. Every ounce of my being. But I can’t thank you all enough for riding with me. This won’t be the last.
Trick Williams is set to defend the TNA World Championship against Elijah at TNA’s Against All Odds pay-per-view event on Friday.
I gave it my all.
Every ounce of my being. But I can’t thank you all enough for riding with me. This won’t be the last.
