A TNA Wrestling star suffered an injury during their WWE return match on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.
On this week’s WWE NXT show, the former Elias, now Elijah in TNA, made his in-ring return to WWE television, teaming with Yoshiki Inamura and Josh Briggs against TNA Champion Trick Williams, AJ Francis and Wes Lee.
The match saw Inamura score the pinfall victory over Trick, earning a TNA Championship match for his tag team partner Josh Briggs on next week’s NXT show.
However, there was an unfortunate injury in the match, as Fightful Select (subscription required) reports that Elijah sustained a triceps tear on the show.
Fightful was told that the spot happened when Elijah came off the top rope, and hit a double knees to the chest, with him tearing his triceps after breaking his fall with his arms.
Fightful notes that TNA’s lead ringside physician was visiting, with him helping out NXT‘s medical team.
Elijah has already undergone successful surgery to repair the injury.
We wish Elijah all the best following his injury.
