TNA Wrestling’s Leon Slater has reacted to his WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event debut last night.
In one of four matches on the card headlined by John Cena’s final career match against GUNTHER, TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater teamed with WWE NXT’s Je’Von Evans to take on WWE World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles & Dragon Lee.
The match was as expected, with a break neck pace that rarely relented until the bell rang at its end and several highlight-worthy feats of athleticism from “The Young OG” and “The Youngest in Charge”.
Unfortunately for the pair of 21 year olds, they came up short as Leon Slater was pinned by Styles following a Styles Clash. Despite the result however, the mutual respect between the two teams was clear as they posed in the ring together and gave a collective salute to the retiring John Cena.
In his first post since Saturday Night’s Main Event, Slater took to Twitter to share the image of he, Evans, Styles and Lee giving Cena a salute in the ring, along with the caption:

#ThankYouCena
Slater will now look forward to Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, as he, along with Joe Hendry, Myles Borne and Dion Lennox compete in a four-way to determine the next challenger for NXT Champion Oba Femi at WWE New Year’s Evil on January 6.
