TNA Wrestling Star Comments On Record-Breaking Championship Win TNA Wrestling

A newly-crowned TNA Wrestling champion has commented on their record-breaking championship win at Slammiversary.

The July 20 TNA Wrestling pay-per-view saw multiple title changes, with The Hardys becoming new TNA World Tag Team Champions and NXT’s Jacy Jayne defeating Masha Slamovich to claim the Knockouts World Championship.

A new record was set when Leon Slater defeated Moose to secure his first championship reign in TNA Wrestling, with the now-former champion being the man to present the title to his successor.

The victory saw Leon Slater become the youngest TNA Wrestling star to hold the X Division Championship since its introduction in 2002.

Slater has now taken to Twitter to address his X Division Championship victory, tweeting a message reflecting on his record-breaking status, stating:

The Youngest in Charge signed with the then-IMPACT Wrestling in October 2023 and would debut during that year’s UK Invasion Tour.

His broadcast debut would see him retain the NORTH Wrestling Championship against Mark Haskins at the Countdown To Turning Point on October 27.

More recently, he has been allied with The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy), including teaming with Matt in a losing effort for the TNA World Tag Team Championship against The Nemeths (Nic & Ryan Nemeth) at Under Siege in May.

During his appearance at TNA Slammiversary, AJ Styles stated that watching stars like Leon Slater reminded him of why he loves the professional wrestling business.

The WWE Raw star would go on to encourage Slater to build his legacy, having become the youngest X Division Champion at just 20 years of age.
