A TNA Wrestling star has announced their retirement from the independent scene ahead of their reported contract expiry.
At the November 17 Northern Crown Pro Wrestling event in Toronto, TNA Wrestling star Josh Alexander made the surprising announcement that he is stepping away from the independent scene.
Speaking after his main event match on the show, Alexander made the announcement, saying:
“You won’t see me here on the independents anymore — maybe some special things here and there, if it’s possible. I don’t know yet. I’ve got to figure it all out.
“But what you will be able to see is the next crop, the next group. And I hand-picked Vaughn Vertigo and Gabriel Fuerza as the two that I was going to work with before I hung it up on the independents. Because, people, for good or bad, they call me a leader in this country.
“I’ve seen all the bullshit that people want to talk about on Twitter. I’ve been talking with my wife and with my kids. I have been grinding and I’ve been hustling for 20 years. [Chants of “Thank you, Josh”.]
“No, Thank you. Without you guys I would never have got re-upped three years ago for more money than I ever made doing construction. That puts me in the position I’m in right now where I can feed my family and keep a roof over our heads.
“I’m thankful for fans like you championing my hard work every weekend all across this country. Thank you.”

Alexander, who holds the record as TNA’s longest reigning World Champion is reportedly contracted to TNA until February 2025, and recently teased entering free agency at the end of his deal.
The Walking Weapon recently challenged Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Forged in Excellence event.
We will provide any further updates on Alexander’s contract status as/when it becomes available.
