With WWE featuring TNA stars in a number of recent storylines, the possibility of the crossover stretching to video games has been raised.
WWE 2K24 is being added to the PlayStation Plus service for October 2024 with the next entry in the franchise in development.
It was recently reported that WWE 2K25 has a release target of Q4 of fiscal year 2025.
Further to this news, it has also been reported that Jordynne Grace has done motion capture for the game itself.
It isn’t unusual for 2K Games to use independent wrestlers to do motion capture for WWE stars, with Trey Miguel confirming he has done mocap for Cody Rhodes in WWE 2K24.
Grace and Miguel have both featured in prominent storylines on WWE NXT this year, with TNA’s Moose having positive things to say about the partnership between companies.
As for the possibility of the partnership stretching the next WWE video game, Fighful Select provided details of the hurdles in place.
In a Select Answers column, Fightful Select was asked if TNA stars could be included in WWE 2K25 through the WWE agreement or would a separate deal need to be in place between 2K Games and TNA Wrestling.
In response, Fightful Select noted that there would need to be approval from TNA Wrestling with a separate agreement with 2K/WWE also being needed.
The answer also noted that TNA Wrestling couldn’t just license out its stars for the game as they are independent contractors and it wouldn’t be legal to do so.
For the time being, it seems, WWE video game fans will have to rely on the create-a-wrestler community to fill the gap.
