Tommaso Ciampa has commented on recently losing the TNT Championship to fellow AEW star Kyle Fletcher after eleven days.
Having parted ways with WWE earlier this year, Tommaso Ciampa would go on to debut in AEW on January 28, answering Mark Briscoe’s TNT Championship open challenge.
The match would take place on the following Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, with Ciampa winning the title, only to lose it to Kyle Fletcher eleven days later.
In a recent interview with 98.5 Kygo, Ciampa opened up about his loss to The Protostar, with the host noting that Fletcher went to Australia and still hasn’t made it back, something the AEW star would elaborate upon more, saying:
“He’s not coming back! He still ain’t back! What’s going on?
“I think he’s celebrated for a bit too long.
“I’ll tell you that when I came here, there were all these talents I’d never crossed paths with and he was on that list for sure, being like that’ll be a fun one.
“He is a hell of a talent, and I feel like, in pro-wrestling, just like sports, it’s ‘any given Sunday’, and he got the win that night, and I’ll take nothing against that. The better man won that night.
“But, I do feel he’s staying a little bit extra in Australia. It’s almost like he’s wondering if I’m going to disappear or am going away, but I ain’t going away. I ain’t going anywhere. I’m here for the long haul.”

Fletcher recaptured the TNT Championship on February 11 and would go on to successfully defend it against Mark Briscoe at AEW Grand Slam Australia in a ladder match.
Following that victory, Fletcher would share a message of thanks to the fans in Australia on social media.
