When Tommaso Ciampa underwent neck and shoulder surgery earlier this year, there were initial worries that he could be forced into an early retirement.
Thankfully, it looks like he is ready to return, and there have been recent reports that he was set to be cleared by September 11.
Ciampa has seen these reports and it’s fair to say that he’s not all that sure that they’re accurate.
MAJOR UPDATE:
I have been told that I am cleared to return as of September 11th…
by the internet.
So, I called and asked my surgeon to confirm. He laughed at me. And said (kind of in an Allen Iverson voice) “the internet, we talking about the internet”.

He should know that the internet is right, and that’s how we know that the earth is flat.
Either he’s genuinely not cleared to return and he’s just making that very clear, or he’s trying to keep his return a surprise, just like anyone would do in his situation.
Ciampa is one of WWE’s best talents, and his return will be huge for NXT when it happens, given the need to now fill two hours of TV as of tomorrow night (September 18).
