Tommaso Ciampa Pulled From Upcoming Non-WWE Show

NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa has been pulled from World League Wrestling’s Night of Champions IV show on March 9.

WLW has announced on Twitter, however, that he will be replaced by former NXT North American Champion Adam Cole:

It is unclear whether Ciampa being pulled is due to a recent injury, or due to his main roster callup, as Ricochet was also pulled from non-WWE appearances recently.Dave Meltzer reported in this past week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ciampa had been working through an injury recently, but the severity wasn’t known. It was later reported that it was a neck injury, and caused a rewrite of last week’s Raw show.

Tommaso Ciampa was one of four NXT callups to the main roster recently, making his Raw debut on the February 18 show in Lafayette, Louisiana. Johnny Gargano, Ricochet and Aleister Black were of course the other three.

WLW is a promotion funded by WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race, who, as reported earlier today, is currently facing a battle with non-terminal lung cancer.
