WWE/AEW
Tommaso Ciampa has recreated his iconic WWE betrayal of Johnny Gargano from 2017 on tonight’s episode of AEW Collision.
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano’s WWE NXT careers started together as DIY back in 2016, with the pair going on to become NXT Tag Team Champions at NXT TakeOver Toronto in 2016.
However, the team would come to an end in 2017, when Ciampa would turn on Gargano, driving him into the titantron in a now-iconic heel turn, setting off his singles run that would see him become a two-time NXT Champion.
After a reunion on the main roster, DIY’s time together came to an official end in January, when Tommaso Ciampa left WWE at the end of his contract, before quickly debuting for AEW and becoming TNT Champion the following week.
However, after Ciampa lost the championship to Kyle Fletcher, FTR have been attempting to get Ciampa to join them, and Ciampa has now already shown his true colours in AEW, recreating the DIY break up.
Mark Briscoe would come out to the ring to speak to Ciampa, before Ciampa would tell Briscoe that he doesn’t need him, and driving him into the titantron the same way as he did to Gargano nine years prior.
WHAT THE HELL, @MRTOMMASOCIAMPA?!
