A popular NJPW star will challenge for the ROH World Championship on Wednesday’s (November 23) edition of Dynamite.
Chris Jericho retained his ROH World Title in a fourway bout against Sammy Guevara, Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson at the November 19 Full Gear pay-per-view.
After his title defence, Orange Cassidy confronted Jericho in a backstage segment.
OC told the ROH World Champion that Tomohiro Ishii wants to challenge for the gold.
Jericho accepted Ishii’s challenge, noting that he will treat Ishii like a young boy, as that’s how he remembers him.
Ishii has wrestled for AEW twice this year, most recently against Eddie Kingston in the September 4 All Out Zero Hour pre-show.
A win over Ishii would allow Chris Jericho to progress on his mission to pin every former ROH titleholder, as the Japanese star held the ROH TV Championship for 79 days in 2016.
The upcoming episode of Dynamite is already stacked, with a Best of 7 Series match, All Atlantic Title bout and the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament also set for the show.
Check out the announced card for the November 23 episode below:
– Chris Jericho (c) vs. Tomohiro Ishii- ROH World Championship
– Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jake Hager – All-Atlantic Championship
– Ethan Page vs. Ricky Starks – AEW Title Tournament Eliminator Final
– Death Triangle vs. The Elite – Best Of 7 Series
