WWE’s use of NXT call-ups tends to be a mixed bag, with Toni Storm being one of those who hasn’t had the best of times.
Toni Storm emerged on SmackDown in July, but has only had three TV matches since then, the most recent of which was a loss to Zelina Vega on October 8.
She also wasn’t picked to represent SmackDown at Survivor Series, with Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya, and most surprisingly Aliyah, being picked ahead of her.
In today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that WWE has “forgotten about” Storm.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that Toni Storm has pretty much all the tools to become a big star in WWE’s women’s division, including some that Vince McMahon often favours, so why she has been cast to the side like this makes very little sense on the surface of it.
Storm’s most recent match wasn’t televised and was a loss to NXT’s Raquel Gonzalez in a dark match before the October 29 SmackDown, which means in total since her main roster call-up in July (four months ago) she’s had four matches in total and won two of them.
