Toni Storm Reveals What About Current AEW Run Is ‘Bothering’ Her AEW

Interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm has revealed that something about her current AEW run is ‘bothering’ her, and what it will take to solve it.

Toni Storm became interim AEW Women’s Champion this year at AEW All Out on September 4, defeating Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter in a four-way match to get the gold.

Thunder Rosa is, of course, the official AEW Women’s World Champion, but has temporarily vacated the title while she recovers from a back injury.

Speaking in an interview with Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report, Storm has revealed that the ‘interim’ nature of her premiership is bothering her, and she is ready to take on Thunder Rosa to become the official champion.

Storm said:

“I guess my first thing would be to beat Thunder Rosa and stop this interim nonsense. That’s kind of what’s been bothering me. I think that’s been bothering a lot of people because she’s still calling herself the AEW women’s world champion and I’m the one here every week doing the work.”

Even though the interim title is bothering Storm, she is not using it as a reason to rest on her laurels or phone in her performance.

She continued:

“Right now. I guess it’s about being a good champion, being a strong champion. That’s what I’m up against every day. I’m working harder than I ever had in my entire career. The time is now. I look at every week as just an opportunity to prove myself. I love giving it my all and who knows where we go from here? But all I know is I’m gonna continue to work hard.”

Toni Storm will be defending her championship at the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite on October 18 against Hikaru Shida.

Thunder Rosa recently shared some snaps of her undergoing therapy which you can read more about right here.

It is not clear when Thunder Rosa will return, but Toni Storm has left no doubt that she will be waiting to face her former tag partner to claim the title officially.
