Tonight’s AEW Dark Card Confirmed, WWE Hall Of Famer In Action

AEW has updated and confirmed the card for tonight’s episode of Dark, premiering on the promotion’s YouTube channel at 7pm ET.

As we covered over the weekend, the announced match between Clutch Adams and Shawn Spears was removed from the show after tweets containing homphobic and racist remarks by Adams from 2013 surfaced. He since issued an apology.

However, a new match has been added to replace it meaning there will still be four bouts on the show tonight.

Firstly, WWE Hall of Famer Billy Gunn, going by ‘Billy’ presumably due to trademark issues, will take on independent talent John Skyler. Gunn competed in the Battle Royal on last week’s Dynamite to decide Cody’s first challenger for the TNT Championship tomorrow, which was won by Jungle Boy.

In one of two tag team matches, Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall of the Natural Nightmares will face Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon. The interesting dynamic in this match is what seems to be the budding romance between QT Marshall and Allie, but is it just a trap?

Speaking of Allie, the Butcher and the Blade will also be in action tonight as they take on Jon Cruz and Joe Alonso, both of whom have competed on Dark a fair bit in recent weeks.

And last but not least, the match replacing Spears vs Adams will be Christi Jaynes and KiLynn King. Jaynes lost to Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida on Dynamite last week, while King lost to Penelope Ford on the prior night’s Dark.
