AEW President Tony Khan has commented on Adam Page missing last night’s AEW All Out pay-per-view, and the big debuts making up for it.
A lot of people were disappointed that Page wouldn’t be on the show, but following Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson debuting, a lot of that has gone away.
Tony Khan spoke about this in the post-show media scrum, saying:
“I had a feeling that I had a lot of backup plans, but I would have given him the time off either way. Even if I didn’t have the guys in, I would have found a way to make it work and accomodate him because it was for a very important reason. He’s a big part of AEW, he’s one of our really important stars. I didn’t have everything exactly into place until we got there.
“And I think you’ve all heard the story, which is true, that Punk didn’t actually sign anything until that night. But we had a handshake and I trusted him, and same thing with Bryan. I think Bryan just signed it. So I trust him, we have a good relationship and we built that. Same with Adam Cole. So really with Adam Cole and with Bryan Danielson, and of course with CM Punk, with Ruby Soho – with all these great stars, I wasn’t sure that everything was going to fall into place, but they all one-by-one started to look more likely.
“You know when some things are like, ‘This could happen’, and then every day it starts to look a little bit better and a little bit better, and it’s like Mr Punk said, I don’t know if there’s a day I could put my finger on all these things and when they all were gonna hit, but it just kept looking a little bit better every day.”

There’s no word on when Page will be back, but his absence is still being presented as an issue on-screen as the Dark Order continues to experience some in-fighting.
We’ll continue to cover more quotes coming out of the media scrum from Tony Khan and others so keep an eye out for some interesting comments throughout the day.
